Fostering Unity and Togetherness

About Amani

Amani is committed to fostering a sense of unity, belonging and reconciliation across ethnic, cultural and religious lines. We aim to build pathways and create safe, culturally appropriate and trusted entry points for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities in South East Queensland. Our activities promote Peace, Acceptance, Respect, Empathy and Love across all generations. We serve as the bridge to empower families and communities, especially women and youth, and ensure that children are safe in a well-supported community.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to support people in the community to achieve spiritual, mental, and physical well-being and to find practical ways to make alive the capacities for people to meet their fundamental human needs in order to achieve genuine equality, shared power, and peace.

Vision Statement

Thriving together as a multicultural society. Amani, a multicultural centre, will become an umbrella body for building solidarity and providing values, standing up for peace, thriving for peace, identifying talents, and managing abilities.

Aim Statement

We work to create stability and well-being for individuals and our association by building a network of self-managing cooperatives. Workers and host communities will together own and control these cooperatives. They will provide good jobs, create opportunities for wealth-building, and help people develop leadership skills. The cooperatives will share resources, support one another to strengthen the network and reinvest profits into training, education, advocacy, and other services that empower the entire community to succeed and grow.

Values

Excellence, Honesty, Compassion, Integrity and Professionalism.
